1962 AC Aceca - RS 5505
This AC Aceca left the factory on the 14th February 1962. The original colour was black pearl with a beige interior, it was painted white at a later date. Engine (no. S251755E) with overdrive. Mays head, 3 SUs. Original U.K. registration number was 6 EOP.
The first registered owner was Patrick, Earl of Lichfield. Then James Longworth acquired the car in 1968. It was then sold in 1975 to William Cooke where it was exported to the USA. In 1976 R. Hanson acquired the Aceca.
Highly modified for racing. Dry sump, steel crank, roller cam, Carrillo rods, single leaf suspension, rear double wishbone, Borrani 15x6 wheels, rack & pinion steering, internals of overdrive removed. Driven by late Chris Lawrence (of Morgan and Deep Sanderson fame) to many West Coast victories. Car reputed to be for sale 1989. Nothing has been heard of the vehicle since. No photographs exist.
